# How to make a wedding invitation video

## Step by step

1. **Choose a template** — For English, open [Wedding invitation](https://cutluma.com/templates/ev-wedding-invite) or [Wedding save the date](https://cutluma.com/templates/wedding-save). For Arabic, open [دعوة زفاف](https://cutluma.com/templates/arabic-wedding). Each page shows a preview of the design and its size.
2. **Open it in the editor** — Click **Use this template**. It opens in your browser as a normal project; all you need is a free account.
3. **Change the names, date and venue** — Click a text on the canvas and type over it. Every line is separate, so you can change the names, the day, the time and the place one by one.
4. **Add your photo** — If the template has a photo frame, drag your own picture onto it. Use **Reposition** and the **Zoom** slider in the right-hand panel to choose what is visible.
5. **Add music** — Add a song to the **Media** tab and place it under the design. Lower the volume, and fade it out at the end.
6. **Export and send** — Click **Export** and download the MP4. Send the file in your chat app, or post it as a story. CutLuma does not send it for you.

## What to write on a wedding invitation

A video invitation is short, usually 10 to 15 seconds, so include only what a guest needs. Check every name and number with a second person before you export.

- **The names** of the couple, and of the hosts if the families invite the guests.
- **The day, the date and the time.** Write the day of the week too; it prevents mistakes.
- **The venue and the city.** Add the name of the hall, or a short address.
- **The programme,** if there are several parts: ceremony, dinner, party.
- **How to reply,** with a phone number or a name and a date to reply by.
- **One short note,** if needed: dress code, children, or a separate hall for women and men.

## Arabic wedding invitation templates (right to left)

The Arabic templates are designed in Arabic from the start. The text reads from right to left, the letters join correctly, and the typefaces are Arabic typefaces. If you change a font, choose one that has Arabic letters, such as Amiri, Aref Ruqaa, El Messiri or Cairo. Choose one style of digits, Western (123) or Arabic-Indic (١٢٣), and use it for the whole invitation.

## Which size to choose

Choose the shape for the place where most guests will see the invitation. To change the shape of a finished design, press Ctrl+K and choose **Copy into other sizes**: the design is arranged again for the new shape, and your original stays as it is.

## Make the invitation personal

- **Your colours.** With no clip selected, the right-hand panel lists the colours used in the design. Change one and every use of it changes.
- **Your photo.** A clear photo of the couple with space around the faces works best inside a frame.
- **Music.** Use a song that you have the rights to, or a free track from the [stock library](https://cutluma.com/tools/free-stock-videos-and-music). Platforms may mute videos that contain commercial songs.
- **A map link.** Add a QR code from the **Elements** tab and enter the link to the venue’s location. Guests scan it from another screen.
- **More reading time.** Each text is a clip on the timeline. Drag the end of the clips to keep the date and the venue on screen longer.

## Sending the invitation

The export is an MP4 file. Short invitations make small files, which chat apps send without problems. Some chat apps compress videos, so keep the text large and send the file once to yourself to check that it is readable. You can also create a share link in CutLuma, and guests then watch the invitation in their browser.
