# Free Instagram post video templates

> Square and 4:5 templates for the feed, animated so they stop the scroll. Edit the text, add your pictures and export an MP4 for the grid.

- Page: https://cutluma.com/templates/for/instagram-post
- 173 templates; each opens in the editor with a free account and exports as MP4.

A feed post is either square (1080 × 1080) or portrait 4:5 (1080 × 1350), and 4:5 takes up the most room on a phone screen without being cropped. This page shows templates in both sizes: quote cards, product tiles, price stickers, testimonial walls, tip cards, event announcements and before-and-after frames. Where a Reel is a performance, a feed post is a poster that moves, and the designs here keep the typography big and the motion gentle.

Animated posts stand out on a grid full of still photos, and the loop plays automatically as people scroll. Open a template, write your caption line into the heading, replace the placeholder image and adjust the brand colour. The result exports as an MP4 you post like any video, and it still reads as a clean image when paused. If you later want the same design as a Story or Reel, Magic Resize converts it to 9:16 and repositions the layers.

## Tips

- **Pick 4:5 for reach, 1:1 for the grid** — Portrait 4:5 fills more of the screen in the feed, while square previews cleanly on your profile grid. Many of the templates exist in both; choose by where people will see it first.
- **Treat the first frame as the thumbnail** — The grid shows a still of your post. Make sure the opening frame already has your headline or product visible rather than a blank background that animates in.
- **One message per post** — Posts are glanced at. A template with one line and one image outperforms a crowded one; put the detail in the caption text, not the video.

## FAQ

**What size should an Instagram post video be?**

Square posts are 1:1 at 1080 × 1080 and portrait posts are 4:5 at 1080 × 1350. Both sizes are on this page and export as 1080p MP4.

**Can I post an MP4 to the Instagram feed?**

Yes. Instagram accepts video posts in the feed; upload the exported MP4 from the app as you would a photo and it plays and loops in the grid.

**Are the Instagram post templates free?**

Yes. Every template is free to edit and export with a small watermark; paid plans export without it.

**Can I convert a post to a Story or Reel?**

Yes. Magic Resize switches a design between 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9 and moves the elements so the layout still works.
