# Change the colour of something in a video

> Click a colour in your video and pick the colour it should become. Every pixel of that colour changes on every frame, while light and shadow stay as they were.

Click a shirt, a car or a wall in your video and give it a new colour. Shadows and folds keep their shape. Runs on your graphics card in the browser. Free.

## How it works

1. **Drop in your video or photo** — Anything with one colour that stands out: clothing, a product, a car, a wall.
2. **Click the colour** — Then choose the new one from the swatches or the colour picker.
3. **Tune the range** — Widen it to catch every shade, narrow it to leave nearby colours alone. Then export.

## Why CutLuma for this

- **Keeps the shading** — Only the hue changes, so creases, highlights and shadows look real.
- **Three modes** — Change the colour, keep only that colour (the rest black-and-white), or let it cycle through the rainbow.
- **Timed** — The change can start at a moment you choose, fading in or wiping across the picture.

## FAQ

**Is it free?**

Yes. It runs on your own graphics card in the browser.

**Skin changed colour too. What do I do?**

Lower “Range”. Pixels are picked by hue and by how vivid they are, so a strong colour separates well from skin; a pale one needs a narrow range.

**Can I change black or white things?**

Greys have no hue, so they are picked by brightness instead and are harder to isolate. It works best on clear colours.

**Can I change just one of two things with the same colour?**

Not yet: every pixel of that colour changes. Crop or split the clip if the other one is in a different part of the video.
