> Pick the shape you want, then drag and scale the picture until the right part fills the frame. The video is cropped, never stretched.

Crop a video to any shape: cut away the edges, zoom in on the subject or change the aspect ratio. Free, in your browser, with nothing to install.

## How it works

1. **Drop in your video** — Any size, shape or length.
2. **Choose the frame** — Keep the current shape to trim the edges, or switch to 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9.
3. **Drag, scale, export** — Position the picture on the preview, zoom in to tighten the crop, and download the MP4.

## Why CutLuma for this

- **Crop by dragging** — Move and scale the video right on the preview. No pixel boxes to type into.
- **Crop to a new shape** — Turn a landscape clip into a vertical one and keep the subject centred.
- **Crop only part of the video** — Split the clip first and crop each piece differently, for example to zoom in on a detail.

## FAQ

**Does cropping lose quality?**

Only the part you cut away. The rest is exported at the resolution of your project, up to 1080p on the free plan.

**Can I crop out a watermark?**

Yes. Zoom in slightly and move the picture so the corner falls outside the frame.

**Is this different from resizing?**

Resizing changes the shape of the canvas; cropping chooses what stays inside it. In CutLuma they live in the same Resize tool, so you can do both at once.
