AI time and Studio credit
What is AI time? One meter for every AI feature. A minute of captions or Magic Clips uses about a minute of it (the best-accuracy speech engine for Arabic dialects uses 13 minutes per minute); a 1,000-character English voiceover uses about 30 minutes; translating captions or a whole video uses a minute or two per language; a request to the AI assistant a few seconds; a publish kit about a minute; dubbing a minute of speech uses about a minute plus the voice's characters. Unused time doesn't roll over.
What is Studio credit? The Studio is open to every account, and Free accounts get 3 storyboards a day. A frame costs 5¢ and video starts at 30¢ for a 4-second shot, paid from generation credit: every paid plan includes some each month ($1 Starter, $3 Pro, $10 Business). Do I need an account?
Yes — a free one, no credit card needed. Sign up, confirm your email and start editing. Your projects and media are saved to your cloud library, so you can pick them up on any device or share them with a link.
What is free, and what needs a paid plan?
The whole editor is free: the screen recorder, timeline, all the design tools (text effects, draw, charts, icons, mockups, QR codes), the industry kits for real estate, construction and clinics (including the privacy blur), Magic Resize, Magic Animate, auto reframe, stock library, templates, keyframes, green screen, background removal, version history, camera looks, presenting your slides with the camera and HD export. The AI features that run on paid models — Magic Design, Magic Media, Magic Edit, Magic Write, text to video, captions, translating captions or a whole video, editing the video as text, the AI assistant, dubbing, the publish kit, voiceover, Magic Clips (shorts from a link or long video) and product ads — are included in every paid plan, with a monthly allowance of AI time. Sending a timeline to Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve is part of every paid plan too. Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, anytime from the Plan & billing page. You'll keep your plan until the end of the billing period.
What happens to my videos if I downgrade?
Your projects and media stay safe. You'll just get the limits of your new plan for new uploads and exports.
Is there a watermark?
Free exports are Full HD (1080p) at the standard quality, with a small, tasteful watermark in the corner. Any paid plan removes the watermark and opens the quality options (60 fps, high bitrate); Pro and Business also export in 4K.
