Video editor for teachers and lesson videos
Record a lesson with your slides and your face, let the pauses cut themselves, then share it with your class as a link or a file. All in the browser, nothing to install.
Made for Teachers
Most lesson videos are screen recordings: slides, a document or a website, with your face in the corner. The studio recorder captures your screen, camera and microphone in one take, then zooms in where you click and frames it all neatly. Phones and tablets can’t record their screen from a browser, so record lessons on a laptop or desktop.
Nobody needs to watch you hunt for the next slide. Silence removal cuts the dead air automatically, and the teleprompter scrolls your script beside the camera lens for introductions you would rather not improvise. Shorter, tighter videos are easier for students to watch and come back to.
Captions help students who are deaf or hard of hearing, learning in a second language, or watching somewhere quiet. AI captions in 17 languages are on the paid plans, and caption translation can add another language for families. With a free account, share a link to a watch page instead of sending a large file.

Why CutLuma works for Teachers
Screen, camera and voice together
Your slides and your face in one recording, with a camera bubble you can move afterwards.
Automatic silence removal
Long pauses are cut for you, and every cut stays editable on the timeline.
Built-in teleprompter
Your script scrolls beside the lens and never appears in the recording.
Captions and translation
AI captions in 17 languages, translated into 16 more, on the paid plans. Arabic and Urdu read right-to-left correctly.
Share links with comments
Students watch in any browser and can comment at a moment in the video. Turn comments or downloads off per link, or revoke it any time.
Stand beside your slides
AI background removal cuts you out of a webcam clip — no green screen — so you can appear next to the content.
Tools that help
Questions? Answers.
Is it free for teachers?
Yes. Recording, editing, silence removal and the teleprompter are free, and share links need only a free account. Free exports are 720p with a small watermark; AI captions and translation are on the paid plans.
Can students watch without an account?
Yes. Anyone with the link can watch on the watch page. Shared videos stay out of search engines unless you turn that on, and you can revoke a link at any time.
Does it work on school Chromebooks?
Yes, it runs in Chrome. Screen recording works unless your school’s administrator has turned screen capture off.
Can I record on an iPad or phone?
You can edit there, but iPads and phones don’t let web pages record the screen. Use the device’s own screen recorder, then bring the file into the editor.
How long can a lesson recording be?
There is no fixed limit. Recordings stay on your computer until you save them, so length depends on your computer.
