Online video editor for Mac, nothing to install
Edit on your MacBook or iMac in a browser tab. Drop in clips from your camera or iPhone, cut them on a real timeline, and export an MP4 that plays anywhere.
Made for Mac
On a Mac, the editor runs best in Chrome or Edge. Firefox works too, and Safari support is improving. There is nothing to download or update: open the page and you are on the latest version, with your project saving itself as you work.
Drag MOV and MP4 files in from Finder, along with photos and music, and edit with the shortcuts you would expect — Space to play, S to split, ⌘Z to undo, ⌘C and ⌘V to copy clips, even between projects. Exports render on your Mac and come out as H.264 MP4 files.
The first time you record your screen, macOS asks you to allow your browser to record the screen in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Allow it once, reopen the browser, and the studio recorder can capture a window or the whole display with your camera in a bubble.

Tools that help
Questions? Answers.
Is there a free online video editor for Mac?
Yes. CutLuma runs in your Mac’s browser and the editor is free. Free exports are 720p with a small watermark; paid plans remove it.
Does it work in Safari?
Safari support is improving, but for now Chrome or Edge on your Mac gives the best results. Firefox works too.
Why can’t I record my screen on my Mac?
macOS needs your permission first. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, allow your browser to record the screen, then quit and reopen the browser.
Can I edit videos from my iPhone?
Yes. AirDrop or copy them to your Mac and drop them in. MOV and MP4 files work in browsers that can play them.
