Video editor / TikTok

TikTok video editor that runs in your browser

Edit on a bigger screen than your phone: cut your takes together, add bold text and captions, keep everything clear of TikTok’s buttons, and export a vertical MP4.

Free · No download · 9:16 preset · Works in Chrome, Edge & Firefox
Overview

Made for TikTok

TikTok videos are vertical, 1080 × 1920 pixels (9:16). That preset is built in, and if you shot in landscape you can switch the canvas and drag the footage to reframe it. Edit on a laptop for precise cuts, or open the editor in your phone’s browser when you are away from your desk.

TikTok lays its caption, username and sound name across the bottom of the screen and stacks its buttons down the right. Keep captions and text out of the bottom fifth and away from the right edge, and leave a little room at the top, so nothing important sits under the app’s interface.

People decide in the first moments whether to keep watching. Open with a line of on-screen text that says what the video is about, cut every pause (silence removal does it automatically, for free), and add captions so the video still works with the sound off.

FAQ

Questions? Answers.

What size is a TikTok video?

1080 × 1920 pixels, an aspect ratio of 9:16. YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels use the same size, so one export works for all three.

Can I edit TikToks on my phone?

Yes, the editor works in phone browsers with a touch layout. Phones can’t record their screen from a web page, so use your phone’s own screen recorder and bring the file in.

Can I use TikTok sounds?

Sounds from TikTok’s own library are added in the TikTok app after you upload. In the editor you can use your own audio, or free-to-use music from the stock library with a free account.

Is it free?

The editor and exports are free; free exports are 720p with a small watermark. Paid plans remove the watermark, export in 1080p or higher and include AI captions.
